Sweet Lois

I am so sad to have to share this news.   Dear, sweet Lois passed away this morning in the arms of her parents. She fought so hard to overcome leukemia. In the end, her little body just couldn't do it.

February 1-6 is Leukemia Awareness Week. If you do nothing else, please show your support by painting your FB profile orange, donating to the Leukemia/Lymphoma society, or sign up to be tested to see if you are a match for a bone marrow transplant.

In the mean time, please stop by Lois's blog and leave a message for her family. R.I.P Lois!

Bummed.....

I am almost beyond words...Our T21 family has lost another friend and gained another angel today.  Warrior Princess/Rock star Kristen lost her 5 time battle with leukemia in her parents arms this morning.  If anybody could show how to handle adversity with grace and endurance, it was Kristen, her Mom Polly, & Kristen's entire family.  She was loved tremendously - both by her family and friends.  The world is a little darker and the heavens a little brighter tonight.

Our love and prayers go out to Kristen's family tonight. I can't imagine what Polly is dealing with right now.

John 3:21: To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

All the Goings-On....

Well, we have been jumping through hoops trying to get this surgery scheduled.  Long story short, we have a surgery date!  It looks like it is going to be July 26th.  I am MUCH happier that it will be on a Monday vs a Friday.  Not knowing how Christopher is going to respond to this, I feel much better knowing there is a full staff.

Another end result from all of this is that we have dropped another doc in Wisconsin.  I am not even going to go into that fiasco, we'll be here all night.  We have appointments both in Chicago and Peoria to interview new Pulmo docs. We also got on a waiting list for a new endo doc in Chicago. I am not impressed with the one in Peoria - that is why we left her the last time. That only leaves Genetics and Nephrology (kidney) docs in Milwaukee. We can handle that. We like both of those. We also don't want to completely cut ties, just in case we need to go back for GI issues. Everybody else is either in Chicago or Peoria. Both are only a 6 mile difference in drive for us. We'll take that! :)

Otherwise, we are still putting the finishing touches on the house to get it up for sale.  Should be up for sale before the end of the month.  Pray for a quick sale (but not too quick - I don't want to have to move during Christopher's surgery. LOL!)

Last, but never least  could you please say some prayers for Kristen and her family?  Kristen has fought leukemia FOUR TIMES!!!!  She just had a bone marrow transplant, and they have just found out that her leukemia is back.  Please say a prayer for her family that this transition be as easy and peaceful as possible for Kristen.

Hannah Grace has Earned Her Wings....

I want to introduce you to Hannah Grace. She and her family just found out in September that








she had a form of leukemia, ALL. This morning at 3:18 am, Hanna earned her Angel wings. Here is a quote from her caringbridge page:

"Hannah passed away this morning at 3:18. After many times we thought she was gone, she would come back to us. She wanted to go out on her terms... sounds like our sweet pea. Please continue to pray for us as we continue this journey without her.We just want to say how appreciative we are of the staff of ACH. We couldn't have asked for a better place to have been during this time... "


Please pray for Hannah's family right now - especially her little brother. He doesn' quite understand yet. Hannah is one of the children who are on the www.colesfoundation.org site. There are too many there. Please say prayers for them all.
