We're off!
We are off to Wisconsin tonight. Mommy will be driving all night to make an 8 a.m. appointment in Milwaukee. :) HOPEFULLY, Lil Man will sleep along the way. He is getting a bath and his meds right before we go, so we're crossing our fingers for sleep. His new favorite thing is twisting in his car seat so that he can stare out the side window of the van to watch the corn and semi's go by (me passing them - NOT the other way around). Although, we WILL be heading through the Loop while it is still dark out - so the "Batman lights" will be full force. I'll try to have Chris get a picture for the blog. :)
Anyway, we see the Pulmonologist, Dr. Rao and have our first meeting with the Immunology team. Hopefully, we will be getting some ideas of which direction to head in next. It is useless to take the computer with me, so you all will have to wait until we get back for an update (unless something crazy happens).
For those interested in being on Lil Man's Buddy Walk Team and getting a free T-shirt, TODAY is the last day to sign up. It is free! You will still be able to join our team and/or donate until the day of the Buddy Walk, October 24th. You just won't get a free T-shirt out of it. Click "donate" on the Firstgiving badge to the right and "register for event" when you get there. Our team name is Christopher's Cowpokes. For those already signed up, rumor has it that the Dollar Store has cowboy hats and Wal-mart has bandana's in all colors for $1.
We will be coming back home on Thursday sometime. Saturday morning, we SUPPOSEDLY have two nurses coming for orientation for a couple of hours. We will see if they show up this week.
Then Sunday, we are off to Peoria!!!!! woot! woot! Our home away from home - well, the hospital is......Anyway, we are heading over for the 23rd annual T.O.U.C.H Heart picnic!!! We love going even if Lil Man doesn't get to do all of the stuff.....We get to see our good buddy Joshua, neighbor for at least 6 months. :) Hopefully, this year, we will get to see our good buddy Ian too! We have lots of good friends there, the doctors and nurses all come out. They have a HUGE raffle, carnival, etc. This year they will also be having a blood drive - I'll have to eat lots of protein to be ready for Sunday. Can't wait to see you there!
Hugs!
Steph
